FA Cup Final...was it??

Now that was a dismal final. Not the best advertisement for top quality football. Considering that the goal came from a fumble, there weren’t many other chances, and Cardiff were good but crap in the final third, that was ultimately a little bit of a waste of time on Saturday afternoon/night (depending on your time zone!). Considering Pompey’s road to the final, one could say that the only real test was their quarter final, which they must admit they were awfully lucky to get through. Only one win against a Premier League team, and only one game where they scored more than one goal. Now exactly a distinguished cup run. Some would say this is sour grapes. Of course it is. Only goes to show how far the FA Cup oftentimes depends on a good run of a good draw, and one would be justified to feel aggrieved by the luck of the draw.

Ipswich 1-0
Plymouth 2-1
Preston 1-0
Man U 1-0
West Brom 1-0
Cardiff 1-0

While Harry would of course revel in his glory, he should be just a tad circumspect in declaring this the start of anything. God help them in a proper competition. (Like the UEFA Cup, and like the Premier League).

Nothing else I want to say today, I suppose. Nothing else much to look forward to, apart from Bristol v Hull (which should be better than abovementioned FA Cup Final), and a certain European final on 21 May. I soooo want Chelski to lose.
