Slow slow slow news day

Well, it's front page news on L'Equipe that Samir Nasri has become an Arse. For those of you who speak Frog, this is what it says. In short, we're looking at a €15 million transfer fee, and he'll put pen to paper before joining up with the French team ahead of the EUROs in the evening. Funny thing is how he's also referred to as "le Nouveau Zidane".

There are comments around from RVP saying that he'll be be fit for EURO 2008. I actually have no doubt about that. He'll probably play a couple of games, then get an injury to...let's see...should be the elbow now. He breaks my heart, he does. Since we won't get Eduardo back for a while yet, maybe Le Boss will then be forced to buy someone in July.

Finally, among those missing from the French team is Robert Pires. He's had a good season at Villareal, and he's one we have to feel happy for. All said and done, his departure was sad, but unavoidable. The fact is the guy is 34 right now, and while he could have played a part in one more season with us, a second in 2008/9 would have been a stretch. Can't argue too much with the one-year extension rule for the over 30s.

Wish there was more to talk about. But alas...
