Arshavin has apparently drawn up his own death wish. Having both Chelski and Arse supposedly eyeing him, his agent has reportedly said that "Andrei would love to play for Arsenal”, and that our "style of football would be perfect for him.” Well, I can't say why he would love to play for us, especially since he has also said that he's dreamt of Barca all his life as well. What gives man. Not only is he slightly older than our usual buys, but there's also now news that we're gonna hijack Pool's bid for Gareth Barry. With Flamini gone, and with Gilberto probably out as well, I must admit Barry would not be a bad replacement. He'd be a good enough holding midfielder to allow Cesc his space. And he is definitely a more consistent goal scorer than either Flamini or Gilberto. But as with Arshavin, he's on the older side.
Basically, what we have right now is at least as follows: minus Flamini, minus Hleb, minus Ade, minus Gilberto, plus Nasri, plus Ramsey, plus Arshavin, plus Huntelaar, plus Barry. And we've still got people like Charles N'Zogbia and Obafemi Martins wanting to come south to the Emirates. All in all, even if half this happens, it'll still be one of our most eventful summers in a long time.
I can't take this quiet Saturdays for much longer. Dammit. When is something ever going to really happen? Good thing our kick off against West Brom has been moved to lunch time. At least it's 2 hours less waiting.
