Still Nothing Happening For Sure

As far as Hleb goes, the news today is that we're one step closer to jettisoning the short-socked one. Philosophically, since we got him for £11.2m, any thing at £11.3m should be seen as a good piece of business. Water off our backs, and it shouldn't cost too much more to get someone with a higher rate of assists and goals. Speaking of which then, by sheer coincidence, there's now news also that we're considering an attacking left-sided player in Yuri Zhirkov. Well, I suppose getting a real Russian for a Belarussian's not too bad. His socks should be acceptable.

There's also news of another departure in Gilberto. I suppose if it can be taken seriously, then £2million would seem to be something of a bargain. But then again, the poor chap has no doubt seen his better days, and we do need to give people like Diaby and Denilson a chance for a run out. All in all, if he does leave, then I'm glad that it has taken place with little fanfare, griping, bitching, etc etc etc. Probably because there has been little indication of agents being involved.

The latest in the string of rumoured Ade-alternatives is now Falcao. Who cares, right? Let's just see Ade go first, and then after that, Le Boss will probably turn a trick which nobody expected. I'm just glad that the ridiculous rumour of Peter Crouch never lasted more than 2 seconds. And to the graveyard of superstars he goes. Pompey.

Finally, to end with a smile, the Arsenal have tallied up Cesc's stats for the season. Even after all the plaudits, the numbers in themselves are still shocking in their story. Simply incredible. His goal assists and shots on goal speak for themselves.
